That's All Folks...

After 85 days wandering in Europe, we are on our way back to Brisbane. We left the 7th July, on the evening that the 3rd State of Origin was played and we will be back in Oz 2 days before the NRL Grand Final.

Our 65 days on the road in France came to a fast and painless conclusion today as we returned our car to Citroen. Within 15 minutes of arriving at TT Cars centre at Charles de Gaul Airport, we had sold the car back to Citroen and the TT Car shuttle bus had us at the door of terminal 2E.

This morning we left Strasbourg at just before 7.00am. Five and half hours later we arrived at Charles de Gaul airport with two pit stops along the way. The Michelin man said the trip would be 481km of which 458km was on motorways. Tolls were 2 Euro more than the 32 Euro he had predicted.

In the final wash up we drove 10,676km in the 62 days we had the car. We used 619.99L of diesel at an average of 1.11 Euro per litre. The Picasso consumption averaged 4.56l/100km a whisker under 50 miles per gallon. Very impressive. It would have been even better if we had stayed off the high speed, gas guzzling motorways.

The food in France is so good it is hard to tear ourselves away. But our buttons and zips suggest we are having too good a time. We will be searching high and low for a real French bakery in Brisbane; after our weigh loss targets are achieved.

From Paris we are off to London for a day and half, then back to Brisbane via Singapore. Within 3 days we will go from getting out of bed in Strasbourg on the French-German border to going to bed in Clontarf.

We are no where near tried of traveling, but the cold, cloudy, rainy weather wears thin with us really quickly.
