Beurizot

Saturday 11th September and we are moving north to a small village called Beurizot near Dijon.

Our lunch time stop off today is the small village of Beaune, which is the capital of Burgundy wine country. We visited Beaune early one morning a few years ago on a Trafalgar bus tour . Today was market day and the streets in the small village centre were full of people and stalls.

The multi-coloured tile roofs on some of the old buildings were the highlight of our walk around town.

While in Beaune we topped up our fruit supply and bought a fresh truffle for our Sunday breakfast omelet. We leave town and drive on through the Burgundy wine country north of Beaune...
passed grand old chateaux....

towards our final destination, Beuritoz. What a cute little village...

Our cottage is right in the heart of the village.

The cottage kitchen includes a wood stove...

Lounge room and stairs to main bedroom...

Beuritoz is close to a major canal called the Canal de Bourgogne...

The village is surrounded by the lush pastures and prime beef cattle...

From miles around you can see the steep of the town church which is over the fence from our back yard.
